Pup cares for blind brother

Pit Bull Puppy Acts as Seeing Eye Dog for Blind Brother Meet Jermaine, the patient pit bull mix who acts as a loving guide for his blind brother Jeffrey. The abandoned 6-month-old duo was discovered roaming the streets of Philadelphia in… September. Animal welfare workers soon realized that the pair couldn’t bear to be separated. They watched, stunned, as Jermaine patiently led his sight-less sibling around — always keeping in comforting, physical contact. Caregivers even snapped a sweet picture of the pair cuddling up together fast asleep. Now 8 months old, the pups are still living at the no-kill Operation Ava animal shelter. But bosses are hoping a loving family will soon be able to adopt both of the pooches together. “They’re always pretty much touching each other,” Ray Little, director of life saving at Operation Ava, told NBC Philadelphia. “Jeffrey really does try to maintain contact with Jermaine, especially when he’s in an unfamiliar environment,” he added. “As soon as he gets familiar with a new place, then he becomes a little bit more independent. But it’s amazing how they try to maintain contact with each other,” he ended. Little said interest in the dogs had been “overwhelming” after staff at Chester County SPCA posted the picture of them sleeping online. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/pit-bull-puppy-acts-guide-blind-brother-article-1.1520454 ———————— “Shelter Me: Let’s Go Home” (Ep. 2) trailer:  http://youtu.be/E6qcMrr5L_M Episode 2 is now available on DVD: http://ShelterMe.tv/dvd/ SHELTER ME, Episode 1, is on NETFLIX http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Shelter_Me/70264887?trkid=13462100 DONATE a toy to a shelter pet: http://amzn.com/w/1TGMPDNBWZWOB http://www.ShelterMe.com/ is the only dedicated site that lets anyone create online profiles of shelter pets to help them get adopted. https://www.facebook.com/ShelterMeTVSee More
